We are transforming our space SPREEUFER into a Sacred Rest & Work Space, centering the care and healing for our Black LGBTQIA+ communities. [All who celebrate and honor this are welcome!] We are inspired by the exhibition “Activist Choreographies of Care”, hosted by one of our neighbors, nGbK, from March 28th, as well as by our own history as a space for organizing protests against the construction of the Humboldt Forum.
Picture a grassroots movement headquarters. Something between a cozy living room and a bustling workshop. Semi-organized chaos to inspire us into collective action. Places to lay on the floor and nap. Small tables and chairs to plot actions or catch up with an old friend. A kitchen to prepare a large pot of beans to share. Loud speakers for regular dance breaks. A stand selling shea butter body cream, a fundraiser for the perfocraZe International Artist Residency [pIAR] in Kumasi, Ghana. An installation of the archive of Black queer living by don’t hit a la negrx from S-pain. Our invitation to you is to spend time in the space with an openness to learn, encounter others, and continue working on whatever you are busy with.
Our doors at Spreeufer 6, 10178 Berlin-Mitte, will be open to all during the following days and times:
Friday, 28 March 13.00-19.00
[19.00 opening of Activist Choreographies of Care at nGbK]
